What's the story, Ross McCrorie?

With the news that Ross McCrorie has left Rangers to sign for Aberdeen it feel like it's the end of an era.

When I first started watching Rangers academy football almost 5 years ago now Ross was one who stood out so it wasn't a huge surprise when he was given his chance to play in the first team only a few years later against Partick Thistle in the Betfred Cup where we went on to win the match 3-1.

In January 2018 Ross signed a contract that would keep him at the club till 2022 which was great for everyone involved at the academy as it seemed like we had finally found someone that could become a regular within the 1st team squad.

I have always felt Ross was at his best playing as a defender but when Steven Gerrard was appointed manger he moved Ross into midfield where he had some excellent performances against Celtic, Aberdeen & Hibs which saw many supporters feel like he was going to be at the club a long time but since then Ross has gradually dropped out of the starting 11 & ended up going out on loan to Portsmouth where he spent the majority of the season playing as a right back which hasn't really helped him on his return to Rangers.

It now seems like Ross has decided for the good of his career that he must move on to a club where he will play regularly as at the age of 22 that's something he needs if he wants to develop further as a player.

I would like to wish Ross all the best for the future & hope that maybe one day he we return to Rangers as a 1st team player.
