If Graeme Souness was the catalyst for the success Rangers would go on to achieve through the late 80’s into the 90’s then Terry Butcher was the fulcrum of the team. Arriving in the summer of 1986 as one of the many English players jumping ship to Scottish football, he played a key part in the first title in nine seasons. A genuine world class defender at his peak, he won three league titles and four league cups with the team. Without his arrival, we might not have gotten out of the doldrums of the early to mid-80s!Terry Butcher - The Fulcrum of the Team
