Sandy Jardine - A Club Stalwart

Sandy Jardine was the definition of Rangers - a club stalwart who played 674 matches for the team and was part of the squad who won the Cup Winners’ Cup in 1972, becoming a Barcelona bear in the process. His passing in April 2014, aged 65 from cancer, shocked the whole club but what better accolade than to rename the Govan stand the Sandy Jardine stand.

I’m positive he would be proud of the progress that the club has made since the dark days of 2012 and I think I speak for every Rangers fan when I say that he was taken far too soon.
