Brand and Miller is a partnership which is fondly remembered by fans of a certain age but Hateley and McCoist is the ultimate duo for me. Hateley was the perfect foil for McCoist, a battering ram and the ideal target man. He scored his fair share of goals too however, especially in high pressure situations. His two goals against Aberdeen on the last day of the season to win the league in 1991 were absolutely vital. If not for these goals, nine in a row would have been over before it really started. Who can forget his volley against Leeds in 1992? Lukic would never have stopped that in a month of Sunday’s. I would take a player like him for our current side any day of the week!Mark Hateley - The Battering Ram
