Brian Laudrup - The Genius

He is my favourite Rangers player of all time and the fact he has the nickname Godrup tells its own story about how he is looked upon by the wider Rangers fanbase. Don't get me wrong when he left for Chelsea, it was a gutting experience, but being able to watch Brian Laudrup in the flesh as a young Rangers fan was something special.

The way he would get Ibrox on the feet when he picked up the ball and the way he glided past the opposition was a joy to behold, watching him live for the first time was a genuine personal "wow" moment.

Also, you cannot argue with a man who has a cup final named after him when Gordon Durie netted a hat-trick in the same match to Hearts' cost. That just tells you everything and illustrates how good he really was on that day in particular.

But when Laudrup scored the winning goal vs Dundee Utd to clinch 9IAR you just knew he would be in Rangers' history forever.

It was an absolute privilege to watch the Dane in a Rangers shirt and he's the recent news that he had beaten cancer is just another reason to stand back and admire Scottish football's greatest ever foreign player.
