Rangers got back to winning ways with a comfortable 4-0 win over Forfar Farmington. Goals from Daina Bourma, Sam Kerr, Chantelle Swaby and Lizzie Arnot ensured a crucial three points would go back to Auchenhowie.

There was a number of changes to the team sheet from the squad who faced Celtic in their disappointing 2-1 defeat on Sunday. Megan Cunningham got back between the sticks to replace Jenna Fife - Brownlie, Bourma, O’Neill, Devi, Girasoli and Gemmell all slotted in to the starting eleven alongside her.

The Gers got off to a scrappy start, unable to settle and play their desired style of football. Forfar were tight to each player in the white away colours of Rangers. It took 36 minutes for an opener and it came through Daina Bourma. Her effort at the back post found the net and gave the away a sigh of relief.

The French forward’s solo goal was the only cushion for Rangers going into the second half.

In a bid to strengthen their lead, Malky Thomson made a triple substitution. Sam Kerr, Lizzie Arnot and Brogan Hay replaced Sonia O’Neill, Rachel McLauchlan and Daina Bourma.

With an almost instant impact, Kerr headed home a corner whipped in by Arnot to double their lead. Ten minutes later, Chantelle Swaby replicated Kerr’s goal to make it three - seven minutes from the 90.

With two assists, Lizzie Arnot managed to grab herself a goal to seal off the win. After some great play down the left, the Scotland international cut in with her right foot and curled into the top corner in extra time.

Despite the shaky start, Rangers went home with the three points and four goals. Now, with two games of the season left, it’s all about finishing on a high.

Rangers’ next fixture sees them host Motherwell on Sunday at home.
